Grace Rocks Westminster!
WOW!! Three cheers for Grace and Darcy, CH Winfarthing Pride and Prejudice MH, taking Westminster Kennel Club by storm and in her first year qualifying to compete in junior showmanship at this show, earns a place in the top 8 juniors to go to the finals. To get to the finals, Grace competed in one of the 4 preliminary classes on Monday February 15. In each prelim class there were 30-35 juniors. Grace and Darcy won their class of 33 juniors under judge William Vandiver, to earn her spot in the finals. Finals took place on Tuesday February 16. Jennifer Pahl was the judge. Grace and Darcy looked amazing, and despite Darcy being somewhat under the weather earlier that day, he rose to the occasion for Grace and looked and showed for her just unbelievable. They did not get one of the top 4 placements in the finals, even though we all sure thought she showed well enough to do so. She did however, earn a 500.00 college scholarship for making the finals! We all had a great time in New York City and could not be more proud of Grace and what she accomplished!

Update from Carmen 8/4/09
Mommy...it's me, Carmen! I sneaked away from that boy dog who keeps jumping on me and found the typing box thing that his person has. I can't use the talking thing, because I don't have thumbs, so I can only use this.
The boy dog's person is really nice to me sometimes. She takes me for walks and lets me sleep in her room...and she gives me cookies and water with ice cubes in it (those are really fun to play with), but then she brings the boy dog in, and he's so much fun to play with too, but then he DOES THINGS to me...and I just KNOW that he has a video camera hidden somewhere, and that he's going to show it to all his boy dog friends. I'm going to be SOOOO embarassed! The other times were NOT like this! He made me stand there stuck to him for, like, 12 MINUTES today!
The boy dog's person told me that I was being a good, brave girl, but I don't know. It just didn't seem right. I tried to tell her that it wasn't supposed to work like that, but she just kept scratching my ears and telling me I was good. I don't know if I believe her.
Oh no! They are coming in now...I have to go so they don't know I sneaked onto the typing box. Please tell the boy dog's person that I can come home NOW!!
